Abstract

The Qur’ān presents the stories of the prophets (Qasas al-Anbiya) not merely as historical narratives but as a comprehensive framework for guidance, moral reform, and the methodology of da‘wah (Islamic preaching). These narratives highlight the lives, struggles, and missions of the prophets, illustrating how they conveyed the message of monotheism (Tawhid), opposed polytheism (Shirk), and guided their communities toward righteousness. The Qur’ānic accounts emphasize essential principles of effective preaching, including wisdom, gentle speech, patience, piety, and steadfastness in the face of trials. This study examines the da‘wah methodology found within the Qur’ānic narratives and analyzes its relevance to contemporary contexts. By exploring key themes such as the prophetic approach to inviting people toward monotheism, the use of wisdom and soft speech in communication, lessons derived from the rise and fall of past nations, and the prophets’ patience during severe hardships, the research highlights the timeless educational and reformative dimensions of Qur’ānic storytelling. The prophets demonstrated exemplary character, perseverance, and reliance on God, thereby providing a practical model for individuals engaged in religious and moral guidance. Furthermore, the study integrates Qur’ānic verses, Prophetic traditions (Hadith), historical accounts, and scholarly perspectives to provide a comprehensive analytical understanding of the subject. It argues that the Qur’ānic narrative style is not only a theological tool but also an effective pedagogical and communicative method for moral transformation and social reform. The findings suggest that adopting the prophetic principles of wisdom, patience, ethical conduct, and spiritual consciousness can greatly enhance the effectiveness of contemporary da‘wah efforts. In conclusion, the Qur’ānic stories serve as a timeless source of guidance, offering valuable insights into the principles of leadership, moral resilience, and constructive engagement with society. Their relevance remains significant in addressing modern intellectual, ethical, and social challenges while preserving the core message of divine guidance.
