Development, Growth and Fragmentation of National Awami Party (NAP) (1957-1975): A Comparative Analysis of NAP (Bhashani) and NAP (Wali)

Abstract

The paper examines the comparative analysis of the National Awami Party (NAP) two groups in Pakistan. NAP was one of the greatest powerful leftist parties, experienced a main split in the late 1960s, founding two groups: NAP–Bhashani and NAP–Wali. This article delivers a full comparative study of these groups, by investigating their ideological alignments, political plans, leadership panaches, and general impression on Pakistan's political scenery. NAP–Bhashani shadowed fundamental leftist positions and class struggle, while, NAP–Wali accepted a practical approach towards electoral politics mainly concentrating on parliamentary contribution and provincial autonomy. The study emphasis their political groups within national and international dynamics, providing visions into the trials and achievements of leftist politics in Pakistan.
