Abstract

Financial irregularities in educational institutions are a pressing concern that undermines their role in fostering societal growth and development. This paper examines the causes of such irregularities, including lack of transparency, inadequate oversight, unethical management practices, and systemic corruption. Additionally, it explores the implications of these issues, such as diminished trust, misallocation of resources, and harm to the institution's reputation and efficiency. The study also provides an Islamic perspective on financial ethics, emphasizing accountability, honesty, and justice as essential principles for managing institutional funds. Key Islamic teachings and principles derived from the Quran and Hadith are discussed, highlighting their relevance in addressing and preventing financial misconduct. The paper concludes with practical recommendations, guided by Islamic teachings, to ensure financial integrity in educational institutions. These include implementing robust checks and balances, promoting ethical leadership, fostering a culture of accountability, and adhering to transparency in financial matters. By aligning institutional practices with Islamic principles, educational institutions can not only improve their financial governance but also uphold their moral responsibility to serve as beacons of ethical conduct for society.
