CULTURAL DIPLOMACY AS A TOOL FOR PAKISTAN’S SOFT IMAGE

Abstract

The importance of cultural diplomacy in framing national identity in the global arena. The power of culture provides the opportunity for governments to share their values, their identity and their culture with foreign audiences. Pakistan as a nation blessed with rich and colourful cultural assets can enhance its image positively through cultural diplomacy. The study will discuss to harness cultural diplomacy as a means to develop Pakistan’s capabilities to counter negative stereotypes and project a unique cultural face globally. The paper goes on to explore the ways in which cultural diplomacy works, whether it be through exchanges, educational programs, and media outreach, and touches on the challenges and opportunities to be found in such an approach.
