CONTEMPORARY ERA AND INTERPRETATIONS OF MARATAB-UL- YAQEEN: A CRITICAL AND INTELLECTUAL REVIEW OF MAKTOOBAT-E- IMAM RABBANI

Abstract

It is certain that nothing in the world can be possible without God's will and restraint. A Muslim man's coming into the world and believing in all the basics that God has commanded is enough for him to be called a Muslim literally, but in reality there is a belief required of that Muslim, a belief in which in the hidden chambers of the heart it is necessary to confess that he is a believer That every corner of it, every window cannot move without the permission of The Almighty, and if God permits, no power in the world can stop it from happening, whether it is to make a way through the sea or to bring it out of the belly of a fish.If the number of believers is less than the Muslims in the modern period, then The reason for this is also the lack of this belief, after the Companions, the Auliyas and The Sufis are the only persons who have recorded the  vast literature on it.The teachings of Imam Rabbani Mujaddid Alf Thani (RA) hold a significant place in Islamic spirituality and mysticism. His Maktubat (letters) provide a detailed and profound explanation of the stages of certainty (Maratib al-Yaqeen), which deserve special attention in the contemporary era. This research aims to analyze Imam Rabbani’s interpretations in the context of modern intellectual and scientific thought, examining how his classification of certainty—Ilm al-Yaqeen (knowledge-based certainty), Ain al-Yaqeen (vision-based certainty), and Haq al-Yaqeen (experiential certainty)—aligns with contemporary rational and scientific paradigms.Through a specialized study of Maktubat-e-Imam Rabbani, this research seeks to explore how the stages of certainty influence human intellect, spirituality, and experience. Furthermore, it discusses the relevance and practical application of Imam Rabbani’s insights in addressing the intellectual challenges of today’s world, including materialism and the scientific revolution. The findings of this study suggest that the explanations of the stages of certainty presented in the Maktubat are not only intellectually comprehensible in the modern era but also provide essential guidance for spiritual stability and clarity of thought.
