WOMEN’S RIGHTS AND ROLES IN ISLAM: A COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSIS OF QURANIC TEACHINGS
Abstract
Islamic teachings provide a comprehensive framework on the rights and roles of women in various aspects of life. Teachings of Holy Quraan affirm the equality of humanity in their spiritual and moral responsibilities. In Islam recognizes the framework of women as essential contributors to family and society development. It advocates for women’s education, evonomic Independence and participation in community affairs. Women have rights including education, property ownership, inheritance and participation in political and social life. Islam introduced the status of women in Arabian society, abolishing practices like female infanticide and introducing reforms for gender justice. Women’s role as mother is highly esteemed with significant emphasis on the importance of motherhood in nurturing the next generation. Women are encouraged to participate in societal affairs and participate in community. Women are also active in various fields, like education, politics and healthcare to society. This research explores the rights as gender equality, marriage, education, leadership and economic participation. Islamic teachings also highlight the complementary roles of men and women with society, family, cooperation and responsibilities. This abstract underscores the dynamic interplay between cultural practices and religious principles, advocating for balanced approach to women’s rights within Islamic contexts. Islamic teachings support women’s empowerment and their roles in societal norms. It is important in our Society the Islamic principles and values are upheld with fullest conviction and honor in obedience to Allah.
