An Introduction to the Debates of the Prophets and a Research Review of its Need and Importance in the Modern Era
Abstract
Allah sent all the prophets to guide humanity, and they fought against them in various ways. Some polytheists even plotted to kill the prophets by drowning them in the intoxication of disbelief and polytheism. However, Allah protected His chosen prophets and gave respite to the enemies of the prophets. However, Allah punished those who did not desist from their disbelief and polytheism. The arguments that have been used to convince these polytheists, hypocrites, Jews, and Christians are called the science of arguments or the science of debate. The word "mujadala" has two forms, general and specific. If this word is read with the suffix "dal", then this word becomes specific. This is also true of Sayyidah Khawla bint Tha'labah. Debate is the path to justice when the plaintiff and the defendant come to a judge and both argue with their respective arguments. In this case, it is only a debate that provides justice and allows the parties to decide who is truly entitled. Allah Almighty has commanded the judge to be just and to achieve virtue when the parties argue for their rights. Peace and order in society is possible only through justice, as if the peace of society is linked to justice, and no one denies this fact. And then, when looked at carefully, justice is linked to debate. When the lawyers of two parties do not cross-examine the case before a judge, it becomes impossible for the judge to give justice to either party. That when the lawyers of both parties do not cross-examine the case before a judge, it becomes impossible for the judge to give justice to either party. Justice is possible only when the lawyers of both parties argue with each other in front of the judge with their respective arguments and the judges give a fair decision. It is the responsibility of every judge to provide justice to the parties in the dispute, and because this is the demand of the law.
