Abstract

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) gave great importance to education and declared it obligatory for every Muslim man and woman. He said,: Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim, male and female: During his time, women were allowed to attend the mosque and learn. The Prophet (ﷺ) even set aside special time to teach women. Notable female companions such a Hazrat Aisha (RA) and Umm Salmah (RA) were scholars and played key roles in spreading knowledge, showing how the Prophet (ﷺ) promoted women's education. The Prophet (ﷺ) treated children with love and care, guiding them with wisdom and patience. He answered their questions, involved them in learning, and taught them through practical examples. Hazrat Hassan and Husain (RA) were raised with special attention to their character and moral training. The prophet’s model for child education emphasized not only academic knowledge but also values, manners, and spiritual development, an approach deeply needed in today’s world. In modern times, the Muslim world faces many challenges in the field of education, especially for women and children. Cultural restrictions, poverty, lack of awareness, and weak infrastructure are major barriers. Moreover, misuse of media and lack of proper Islamic training reduce the impact of education. The solution lies in following the model of the Prophet (ﷺ), which combines knowledge with moral development, equality, compassion, and responsibility.
