Solutions to contemporary domestic problems: In the light of the family system of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
Abstract
The family system is one of the most fundamental and oldest institutions of human social life. It is a social structure in which individuals are connected through blood relations, marital ties, or legal bonds. The family not only fulfills the physical, emotional, and social needs of individuals but also plays a vital role in the continuation of civilization, transmission of moral values, and character development. From an Islamic perspective, the family is the foundation of society. The Qur’an and Sunnah emphasize the formation of families, their rights and responsibilities, and the importance of order and discipline within the household. A strong and well-organized family system is essential for a peaceful, ethical and welfare, and welfare-oriented society.
In the modern age, human beings have made astonishing progress in science, technology, and social fields. However, despite this progress, modern man is suffering from mental, physical, and spiritual discomfort. Despite advancements in medical science and marriage counseling, he has failed to achieve real peace and happiness. Behind this apparent progress lies spiritual emptiness and moral decline, which have deeply affected the family system. The western family system, based on individual freedom and materialism, has distanced humans and traditional family values .it has weekend relationship, especially the bond between parents and children causing emotional and moral damage. The sense of obedience, respect for elders and commitment to mutual responsibilities is disappearing .as a result divorce rates have increased and modern lifestyle have shaken the very foundation of the family structure. Modern challenges have shaken the foundation of the family system, leading to issues such as rising divorce rates ,disobedience among children and weakling of relationships between parents and children. These problems are growing rapidly. The complete solution to these issues lies in the teachings of Islam. The life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his noble traditions present a comprehensive and well balanced family system. This system ensures he protection of human values, religion and a progressive and moral society
