ADDRESSING GENDER-CENTRIC CONCERNS: AN ANALYTICAL STUDY OF WOMEN’S RIGHTS AND ROLES IN ISLAMIC TEACHINGS
Abstract
The social, economic, and political status of women is an important issue worldwide, and there are many issues that affect the well-being of women and the protection of their rights. These issues are rooted in various cultural, social, and economic factors, and finding solutions to them is important not only for women but also for the development of the entire society. The following are the main issues faced by women. Access to education, Economic independence, Sexual harassment and violence, Access to health facilities, social status of women, Enforcement of the law, Traditional violence against women. The social role and status of women are very important for the development of any society. Islam has given women rights in every sphere of life and has protected their rights. But unfortunately, in today's era, women are facing various problems. Violence against women is a serious problem that is found all over the world. Domestic violence, sexual violence, and mental violence have become everyday problems for women. The nature of the problems facing women is complex and diverse. The solution to these problems requires effective measures at the social, cultural, and legal levels. In order to protect women's rights and elevate their status, it is not only the responsibility of governments but also of every individual to ensure that women get their rights and equality, so that they can play their full role in the social, economic, and political arenas. Islam not only gave women their personal rights but also provided them with equality at the social level. In Islam, women have full authority to make their own decisions. Hazrat Aisha (RA), who was a great scholar and political figure, highlighted the importance of women at the social level. Problems regarding women are being faced not only in the Islamic world but also at the global level. However, the position and rights given to women in Islam are much completer and more comprehensive than any other religion or law in the world. Islam has guaranteed women dignity, respect and rights and has laid down strong principles to resolve their problems.
